Frequently Asked Questions
How does Pincel make AI portraits?
Pincel reads the unique features of your face from a single uploaded photo, then composites them into a wide range of styled scenes. You can pick from 11 looks, write a custom prompt, and even pin a body pose reference for tighter creative control.
How many portraits can I generate at once?
Up to four per run. Each run uses 2 credits per portrait (8 credits for a full quartet). Once they're done, you can hit Enhance on any individual result to double the resolution and sharpen the face.
What photo should I upload?
A clear, well-lit photo with your face roughly centered works best. JPG or PNG, ideally at least 800px wide. Avoid heavy filters or sunglasses if you want strong likeness.
What is the body pose reference?
It's an optional pose template — pick one from the library and Pincel will steer the composition toward that body posture. Useful when you want a specific stance or framing.
Can I save a character to reuse?
Yes — saved characters appear in the Subject row alongside Woman / Man so you can apply them in one click. They carry their own ethnicity, age and prompt details which Pincel weaves into your prompt automatically.
How long does a portrait take?
Around 10–20 seconds per image, depending on style and load. Multi-image runs queue sequentially, so a batch of four typically wraps in around a minute.
Can I use the results commercially?
Yes — your generated portraits are yours to use commercially, including for marketing, profile photos and product mockups. NSFW outputs are filtered.
What size are the portraits?
Each portrait is generated at 768×1024px. Run any result through Enhance to push it to roughly 2x that size with sharper detail.
